It is September 1st which means… yes…you know what it means! It’s time for another ‘Keep it Simple‘ tip! This month it is Excel and we’re looking at another use for the F4 key – and this time it’s to show you how to use it to repeat an action that you’ve taken.
You can view the video or follow the step-by-step shown underneath.
Enjoy and remember: Keep it Simple!
Hello!
Today we’re going to see how we can repeat an action that we take in Excel – using – the F4 Key!
Add in a New Row
I’m going to put in a new row above Row 4.
- So, I’ll right-click on the Row 4 heading and select Insert.
- And my new row goes in as normal.
- Now I’ve decided I want another row – so I press the F4 key – at the top of the Keyboard – to repeat that action.
- Another row is added!
- Press F4 again…
- And I’ll press it one more time…
- That’s 4 rows added!
Delete a Row
I think I’ll delete one of those blank rows now.
- So, I’ll right-click on the Row 4 heading and select Delete.
- Then to repeat that deletion – I press F4 again.
- I’ll press F4 again…
- And I’ll press F4 again!
- All 4 rows are now gone!
Insert a Column
- I’ll right-click into the heading of the C column – and select Insert.
- To repeat that action, press F4
- I’ll press F4 again…
- And press F4 once more…
Delete a Column
- I’ll right-click into the column C heading and select Delete.
- Then I’ll repeat the deletion by pressing the F4 key.
- And press F4 again…
- And yes, let’s do it one more time…
- It’s just tooooooo easy…!
I hope you enjoyed that and I’ll be back again with another useful ‘Keep it Simple‘ tip – next month!
Great tip, thanks
Love it!
